Hello everyone!

I just want to see what Permit System everyone is using. We use a very old system called Eden but now our city is looking into getting a new system.... FINALLY! Haha but I just want to know everyone's perspective on your permit system you use and why or why not you like it. I have a big stack of paperwork that I need to read over about different systems we can use but I would like personal experience reviews.

Thank you!

We use Tyler. I have used SmartGov in the past, and I really loved it. We went live with Tyler in 2024 and are still fine tuning things....feel free to ask any questions about it if you want to know more!

We use Accela. It works pretty well for us and our citizens however, I have heard several individuals say that it could be a little more user friendly.

Hello,
We use iWORQ. I really like the system. I find it easy to use, very versatile, and their staff is always available to make adjustments or answer questions or help if there are issues.

We use Citizenserve at the county level and most of the cities within our county also use Citizenserve. It is web-based and can be used on any device that has internet service. The system is very organized and well thought out. They are a great company with excellent support. They can make changes and create reports usually same day or within 24 hours if needed. I have been using it for 8 years!

I’m associated with Tejjy, and we provide permit expediting services across Maryland, Virginia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. We work closely with local jurisdictions to help streamline the permitting process, coordinate submissions, track applications, respond to comments, and help move projects through the approval process efficiently.

I completely understand wanting to hear real experiences before choosing a new permit system. From our experience working with different jurisdictions, having a system that is user-friendly, provides clear permit tracking, supports document management and plan review, and makes communication between applicants and the permitting department easy can make a huge difference.

If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to share some insight from our experience with permit expediting and working with different jurisdictions in the DMV area.

Good luck with the transition from Eden! Hopefully the new system makes the process much easier for everyone!
