During the Covid-19 pandemic, the interest in backyard pool permits surged and increased. This trend makes sense to me, as people who wanted to swim probably didn't want to do so in public where the dreaded virus could be lurking in the pool water or the air around it.

Now the amount of pool permits is back to normal, and construction has slowed down. The slowdown in construction can probably be attributed to people who thought they wanted a pool, but now that the pandemic is over, they have decided that they don't want one after all.

I've noticed the shift in backyard pool permits during the Covid-19 pandemic, and it completely aligns with the desire for a safer and private swimming experience. However, it's not surprising that now, with the pandemic subsiding, some folks are reevaluating their pool plans. It's a reminder of how quickly trends can come and go in response to changing circumstances.
