Are they just requiring permits for electric and hybrid vehicles? What about gas vehicles, are they required a permit for parking a regular car? I'm for there being a permit requirement depending on the areas, but is this going to be for every area you park in? Or just public/private locations? What about on your own street?

The article focused on EV permits, but there are most likely permits for other types of vehicles as well.

I think the government has learned that to get the parking spots ready for EVs, such as signs and probably charging stations, that they needed to collect money for all that. They're claiming it's still more cost effective, but I wonder once the batteries die if they'll still make that claim?

It's disappointing to see local councils in the UK implementing fees for electric vehicle parking permits. While budget constraints are understandable, encouraging EV adoption should be a priority for a greener future.

This made no sense to me at all why they chose to change this. Electric vehicles are being pushed as they are better for the environment but yet they are adding on more charges for those who drive these vehicles which will eventually put many off wanting to own an electric vehicle due to these fees.
