A lawsuit has been filed against the City of Kelowna by Appelt Properties. This has been done following the rescission of development and variance permits for a project at the former Doyle Avenue RCMP site.

Allegations that an agent for the developer had paid individuals $250 to support their project in 2022 at a public hearing had influenced the decision by the city to take action. The city council believe that paying the developer paying the individuals tainted the approval process.

At the moment Appely Properties are currently contesting this and saying that they have not violated any rules and the decision by the council is not only unreasonable but also unfair.
