If you are in Northwest Arkansas and you are involved in residential buildings, particularly in Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale, there has been a 21% increase which is noticeable in the issuance of single-family home permits as compared to last year. This year alone there have been 1,099 permits issues up until July 2023.

Something interesting to note though is that when these values are combined, the value of permits issued is in actual fact down by 13.4% from last year with the amount sitting at $357.98 (down from $413.64 last year).

The most permits issued were seen in Bentonville with a rise of 18.9% compared to last year.

Interesting seeing the strong growth in residential development and permitting currently happening in northwest Arkansas. A 21% year-over-year increase in residential permitting is nothing to sneeze at. Interesting also to see the two statistics at odds with each other: a 21% increase in the number of single-family home permits compared with 14% decrease in overall permit value. At least over the past year, the market appears to have begun catering more to lower income, middle-class homeowners as opposed to larger developments/commercial construction. This appears to be very positive economic sign for Arkansans.

The 21% surge in single-family home permits in Northwest Arkansas, especially in Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale, is a promising sign of residential growth. However, the 13.4% decrease in the combined permit value from last year raises questions about market dynamics. Bentonville's 18.9% permit increase underscores its growing importance in the region's housing sector. Exciting times for real estate development in the area!
