I recently stumbled upon an interesting question on Reddit regarding permits for patio enclosures. Since I had no idea about the requirements but someday I might need help regarding this issue, I want to share it her. The Reddit poster wants to enclose a part of his patio but he is facing a problem with getting a permit from the city. He discovered that a neighboring enclosed patio wasn't officially permitted., and he has to treat the whole area, which is about 370 square feet, as a new project for permits.
Is there a way top take off the patio being being treated as a new addition, especially when it has been there for a long time, like 20 years? The situation seem to be very tricky situation, and I'm curious what would be a solution to a problem like this one
