Can someone please ELI5 the difference between the IBC and the IEBC?

There is a "permit revisions form" that we use and ask the applicant to submit with the changes; if it is a big review and a lot of time is spent reviewing, I would charge an additional fee/fees as appropriate. Once the revisions are approved, the plans get re-issued.

Thank you for asking what the OP meant, I had the same question. I would think so; an ADU is a separate structure. The only time we may not is if it's a conversion and the actual shell of the bldg is already there. But if it's a new build, we'd require the same documents we require for a NSFR.

Wow! Excellent question. Effective enforcement is a tough one, because of things like staffing, and prioritizing. What is a top priority for the resident may not necessarily be for the staff (ie it is not a danger to life/safety, it's just an eyesore). Timely permitting I would say is overall...

Yes, I do! in terms of land use/building violations. I am not in the field doing it, but I do draft letters for things like tall grass or signage violations and have the building inspector take photos when he's in the field. The code compliance officer who handles things like nuisances, animal...

Yes! Will do! :) I used Dude Solutions (aka/fka SmartGov) at my previous job and I loved it, so I've always been a bit impartial to it. Tyler seems to have what we will need (and is loads better than Vision) so I am excited....but I'm also nervous to go 100% digital due to our demographic.

Right now we have Vision, but we are implementing Tyler and hoping to go live in Mid-October.

COMMUNICATE! I had this issue recently, I had everyone signed off except one person, and I kept bugging them because the contractor kept bugging me (nicely, surprisingly)....We just have to be open and honest with our clients....some can smell the bs, so it's not worth it.

We are currently accepting them in person or via email (preferred). We will be implementing software later this year that will have us go 100% online.

Our over the counter permits are: Re-roof (residential and commercial) Mechanical (commercial permit cost is based on valuation) Demolition Solar Installation (commercial permit cost is based on valuation) Once I receive a complete packet, I usually get these issued within a day or two.
