Hello! I am a permit tech and was wondering how many permit techs here do plan checking? At our city we don't currently but I was told we will be learning soon. If you are a Permit Tech who does plan checking how was the learning process?

We can get plans reviewed and permits issued in just a couple of days but just in case I always tell everyone that planning review can take up to 2 weeks.

Yes, very old! But we were told last year that we will be using a new system starting 2026. Hopefully that happens because we are ready for an easier system! Not sure what system they have in mind for us yet.
