Plan checking

Hello! I am a permit tech and was wondering how many permit techs here do plan checking?
At our city we don't currently but I was told we will be learning soon.
If you are a Permit Tech who does plan checking how was the learning process?

I am not a permit tech however I have 6 on my staff. The permit techs at the counter review standard plans at the counter such as patios, walls and pools. We also provided training to our counter staff to review PV plans.

We work with multiple jurisdictions (we are a contracted building official company) and part of our intake process is to review plans for completeness. We reach out for missing information prior to sending it to a plan reviewer, but we don't actually "DO" the plan review ourselves.
